Jack Russell Lovell, a native of Knox, PA enlisted in the US Air Force in September 1950. After completing Officers Candidate School and pilot training (Greenville, MS, San Marcos, TX, and Waco, TX) he received his wings at Waco as a member of class 53A. Following training at Moody Air Force Base, GA, he was stationed at Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, OH in the 97th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, flying F-86D and F-86E jets until his discharge in 1956.
