Entered the Marine Corps Aviation Cadet (MARCAD) class 2-62 in January of 1962, Pensacola, Florida. Received Naval Aviator wings in June 1963 and assigned to HMM-262 at New River, North Carolina. Hired by Pan Am in May 1966 as Navigator/Relief Copilot in New York. Transitioned to Flight Engineer on Boeing 707, 727 and 747 and eventually Copilot on 707 and L1011. Based in Berlin, Germany, Hong Kong and New York. Transferred to United Airlines in 1986. At United flew Boeing 747, 727, 757/767 and DC-10. Retired from 747-400 in March 2001.
