Jim Topalian received his private pilot license in 1971. In 1973 he received his Lear Jet rating with Airline Transport Pilot and became a corporate pilot.
In 1980 he received his G-2 rating and was hired by Skybird Aviation in Van Nuys, CA. In 1983 he was designated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a Gulfstream pilot examiner. He is currently flying G-5s for Skybird Aviation and has over 25,000 hours of accident-free flying.
