Capt. John F. Kaczmarek entered into the country in 1962 as a 14 year old Polish immigrant and worked his way up through the ranks of general aviation, from gas boy to airline captain. He started his flying career in California where he flight instructed, flew charters, and corporate jets. He was designated by the FAA as a pilot examiner and safety counselor and taught aeronautics at Glendale College. He began his airline career at Continental Airlines and through chance and circumstance wound up at AirCal and American Airlines, where he serves as a line captain in their domestic and international route system.
