    I was born on May 28, 1935 in Detroit, MI. On Jan 23, 1942, my father, who had a 6th grade education and was a structural steel erection superintendent, got his private pilot license in and Interstate Cadet, NC37307, at Arkadelphia, AR. I was his first passenger on May 10, 1942 in Piper Cub, NC41439, at Lansing, MI. We made a deal that day that when I got my pilot license that he should be my first passenger. That is when I started learning to fly. On Jun 10, 1956, I got my BS degree in Engineering at UCLA. On Nov 3, 1956, I got my private pilot license in Champion N4341 C at El Monte, CA and the next day I took my father for a ride. I worked almost 10 years in aerospace including some work on the first spy in the sky satellite of the Cold War. During that time, I got a MS Engr at UCLA, and commercial, instrument, and CFI, airplane and instrument. On Jan 10, 1966, I began a new career at United Airlines. I flew Flight Engineer on DC6, DC8, DClO, B747; copilot on 727, 747; Capt on 727;9-57,767,747; then Flight Engineer for another 6 years on 747,727, retiring on Jun 30, 2001.
