Bom Feb 19, 1939 in Oakland, CA. Graduated from Cambrillo Junior College in Santa Cruz, CA.

Served in the U.S. Navy as an enlisted man from Feb, 1956 to Nov, 1959.

Joined United Airlines in Mar, 1961 at San Francisco International Airport as a Weather Clerk. Joined United Employees Flying Club and obtained a Commercial License and a Flight Instructors License. He was hired as a Second Officer (Flight Engineer) and worked his way up as a OC-10 Captain and retired in Feb, I999. He was employed with United Airlines for 38 years.

He met a wonderful Stewardess (Flight Attendant) and they were married for 31 years. Her name was Patricia Vazquez (Tria Lyall). She flew for United for 25 years. They have one son named Zachary Lyall. Tria passed away July, 2005 from lymphomic cancer. She is deeply missed.
