United States Air Force Strategic Air Command combat crew pilot on the Boeing B-47 aircraft.
Test pilot for the Douglas Aircraft Company from 1955 to 1960 on the B/RB-66 jet bomber (2 ½ years) and the first Douglas commercial jet airliner (2 ½ years).
From 1960 to 1988 served as Captain for training/checkout/ and scheduled line flying for Pan American World airways.
In addition to US Airline Transport Pilot ratings in the Boeing 707, 747, and Douglas DC-8 airplanes, holds ratings in the DC-8 from Scandinavian (Denmark, Norway, Sweden) and the Netherlands KLM Airlines.
