Frank's love for aviation started as a young boy when he would shoot for the stars in all he did. While serving as an officer in the Middletown Police Department, he began going to flight school and in 1979 earned his pilot's license.
Shortly after ending his career as a police officer, Frank began flying commercially as a pilot for several airlines before becoming a Captain for American Eagle. In January 2004 Fran retired from commercial flying after 20 years service and logging more than 17,669 hours.
