    Carl flew the F-100 Super Sabre as a combat pilot after graduating from gunnery school at Luke AFB, AZ. In 1970-1971 he flew 234 combat sorties over Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross for a mission over Laos. Carl went on to become a test pilot and squadron commander at Edwards AFB, CA. He retired in 1994 as a Colonel, commanding the 49th Test Group at Holloman AFB, NM for three years. He graduated from the USAF Academy in 1965 and currently resides in Parker, CO.
