CDR David V. Senft, USN, served as a fighter pilot in WWII and Korea aboard the USS Wasp, Saratoga, Nassau, Bunker Hill, and Bonhomie Richard. He was involved in the battles of Guadalcanal, Attu, the Solomon Islands campaign, Bougainville, Tarawa, Marshall and Gilberts, and Truk. He was awarded two Distinguished Flying Crosses, nine Air Medals, and a Presidential Citation.
