Honored by:
Charles W. Ward was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He joined the Army Air Corps in July 1942. Flew 50 missions as a tail gunner in B-17s in North Africa with the 346th Squadron, 99th Bomb Group, 12th Air Force.
Returning home in November 1943 he was a gunnery instructor and later a cadet in pilot training.
Mr. Ward has a lifetime interest in air and space programs.
