    CMSgt Richard G. Musselman was born March 11, 1959 in Zanesville, Ohio. He is the youngest of 12 children born to Michael and Catherine Musselman. He graduated from Bishop Rosecrans High School in 1977.
    In Dec of 1976, Rich delay enlisted in the United States Air Force. On July 13, 1977 he reported to Lackland AFB, Texas for basic training and the beginning of his twenty three and one half year of active duty. After completion of basic, it was on to Aircraft Maintenance Training School at Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, Texas. Airman Musselman completed Technical School in September of 1977 as an F-15 Aircraft Maintenance Specialist and was ordered to the 1st Tactical Fighter Wing, Langley AFB, Virginia to assume duties as a Crew Chief in the 94th Tactical Fighter Squadron. In 1982 Sergeant Musselman received a reassignment to the 426th Aircraft Maintenance Unit, Luke AFB, Arizona. His duties there included Dedicated Crew Chief and Flight Line expediter. After four years in the 426th, he was reassigned to the 405th Equipment Maintenance Squadron as NCOIC of Inspection Section. After ten years of service in the continental United States, it was time to see the rest of the world. Sergeant Musselman requested a Change of Station to Europe. July of 1987 he received orders to 36th Fighter Wing, 22nd Aircraft Maintenance Unit, Bitburg Air Base, Germany. He was once again assigned as a Dedicated Crew Chief and eventually Flight Line Expediter before being assigned to the 36th Wing as a Quality Assurance inspector. After duty in Germany, he was off for his next assignment with the 4th Tactical Fighter Wing, 334th Aircraft Maintenance Unit, Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina where he had numerous jobs culminating in Flight Line Production Superintendent. In December 1995, it was time to venture back overseas and to the Pacific where Sergeant Musselman found himself in the 18th Fighter Wing, 67th Fighter Squadron, Kadena AB, Okinawa, Japan. Rich served in three different squadrons while assigned to Kadena AB. He was the Lead Production Superintendent in the 67th Fighter Squadron, Sortie Generation Flight Chief of the 44th Fighter Squadron, and the Maintenance Superintendent for the 909th Air Refueling Squadron. Enough was enough and the Chief was ready to come back to the United States. In July of 1999 he returned home, and to the "Spads" of the 94th as the Maintenance Superintendent and Chief Enlisted Manager. On January 1, 2001 Chief Musselman will be officially relieved of active duty in the United States Air Force after 23 years, 6 months, and 18 days of active duty.
    CMSgt Musselman's awards include the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal with 3 Oak Leaf clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Air Force Achievement Medal, four outstanding unit awards, the armed forces expeditionary ribbon, a Kuwait liberation medal , and South West Asia Ribbon.
    The Chief is married to the former Deborah A. Worth, of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, who is now CMSgt Musselman. They have two daughters, Patricia 17, and Mallory 11.
