    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:
    Ms. Karan S. Bellacicco

My siblings and I would like to submit our brother's name to be inscribed on the Wall of Honor at Smithsonian's Air and Space Museum. You see, Brian is the youngest male of 7 children and falls 6th in our family lineup. One would think that life may have been easy for one of the youngest in a large family but not so for Brian. He followed his 3 older brothers through Summerville High School (SC) and then onto The Citadel (Charleston, SC). Brian listened to the beat of a different drummer though and tried out for and became a member of the Elite Summerall Guard. Brian went on to graduate with a BS in Civil Engineering in 1985. Upon graduation he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. His primary career was in acquisition but held jobs as a Legislative Liaison officer to the US Congress, Executive Officer and Director of Installations and Mission Support for the Air Force District of Washington. Brian commanded two contracting squadrons and spent over 10 years of his career serving in the European Theater. His accomplishments came as he dedicated his life and career to serving his country. But Brian wasn't alone. His wife of 15 years, Pat Bellacicco, has been by his side and an important factor in the equation. Pat's career as a Civil Servant has also blossomed as she traveled with Brian all over the world. Presently, she is a GS13 and is Director over volunteers at the Air and Space Museum. Anyone knowing Pat knows how driven she is to do the job and to do it right (giving her all). Brian and Pat are the kind of people who do move forward by that drive to be leaders, miraculously accomplishing tasks, and concentrating on positive thinking. On May 30, 2007, it was an honor for me to witness Brian, 43 years old then, pinning on Colonel for the United States Air Force at Andrews AFB in Maryland. His family and friends are deeply proud of Brian and all he has accomplished.
