Born in Sumter, S.C., 19 June 1941
Graduated University of South Carolina May 1963 and entered the U.S. Air Force as a Distinguished Graduate of USC Air Force ROTC Program.
Served 30 years active duty from July 1963 to July 1993.
Served in Strategic Air Command almost 14 years. Other 16 years divided among Air Force Communications Command, Pacific Air Forces, Air Force Systems Command, Air University, and Air Force Communications Command.
Served first nine years in different career fields and served in Air Force public affairs the last 21 years.
Director of Public Affairs, Air Force Flight Test Center, during huge tactical force upgrade of early 1970's when first F-15, F-16, A-10 were being tested.

After retirement from Air Force, Director of Public Affairs, devoted time to The Mighty Eighth Air Force Heritage Museum, a 100,000 square foot, 14 acre facility to honor of 8th Air Force in Savannah, Georgia (1994-1998). Helped plan, build and run the Museum.
Built one of the largest privately-held collections in the world of books, periodicals, memoirs, videos, etc. about the Strategic Air Command for donation to University of South Carolina Rare Books and Special Collections for use by historians, researchers, students, veterans, etc.
