Dean H. Allison entered the U.S. Navy V-5 Aviation Cadet Program in February of 1943. Eighteen months later he completed flight training and was commissioned as an ensign. In the waning months of World War II he piloted Navy F-6F Hellcats and F-4U Corsairs in the Pacific Theater. He was discharged as a lieutenant (j.g.) in 1946.
Mr. Allison re-entered the Navy in 1949 as an enlistee and pursued a career as an aviation mechanic. He served aboard the USS Boxer during the Korean War and with a number of different squadrons thereafter. He retired from the Navy in 1965 as a chief petty officer. He was returned to the permanent rank of lieutenant (j.g.) in 1975.
Dean H. Allison's service to his country and his love affair with aviation has served as an inspiration to all who know him. He is much admired, respected and loved.
