Donald continued his flying career as a Flight Engineer for Pan Am Airlines. Around 1967, Donald switched gears and became a Flight Crew Trainer for Boeing. He also did flight testing for Boeing including most of the 700 Series of Aircraft (notably including the 707-80 on display in the Udvar-Hazy Center). In 1944 Donald retired from Boeing after 27 years with the company. He had flown over 10,000 hours with private commercial and ATP ratings.
