Soloed as Civilian Pilot on sixteenth birthday. Flew with Civil Air Patrol during World War II. Entered USAF January, 1951. After completion of pilot training, flew 100 combat missions in Korea. Flew 85 missions in Vietnam Conflict. Retired from USAF in 1979.
