Don Small was a life-long aviation enthusiast. He took his first airplane ride in 1932 at the age of seven aboard a Waco Biplane. From that point on, a passion for flying developed. He obtained his private pilot's license in 1950. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and was still flying almost fifty years later.
