Dr. Pass is a sociologist interested in the interactive effects between space technology and science on the one hand and society on the other hand. An important related question: how does human activity in space impact on social groups both on Earth and off the Earth. Finally, it is important to learn how space related conditions affect humans in group environments so that they can be made to operate comfortably and successfully.
Dr. Pass has been a supporter of space-related efforts since the days of Apollo. He is a member of the National Space Society and the Planetary Society.
