    Dr. Leslie "Leek" Thomason headed the General Aviation Industries first Market Research and Aviation Education Departments at Cessna Aircraft Company from 1956-1969. Prior to joining Cessna, he was dean of faculty and graduate research at Northwestern State College, Alva, Oklahoma. During World War II he was in the Inspector General's Department, covering the Air Force Training Command and later was Chief of Personnel and Administration with NATO in France.

    Leek served as aviation consultant to over 100 colleges and universities and his articles on the impact of aviation appeared in leading magazines over a period of 25 years. He is the recipient of the National Aeronautic Association Frank G. Brewer Trophy, the University Aviation Association William A. Wheatley award and the international aviation fraternity Alpha Eta Rho award.

    Leek was a board member of the National Aviation Education Council, University Aviation Association and was chair of the Civil Air Patrol National Aviation Education Advisory Board. He also served on committees of the Utility Aircraft Council of ALA and many other aviation organizations. He retired as Professor of Aviation at Arizona State University in the 1979 and died in 2001.
