Mark Andrew Stephens was born in Flint, Michigan and raised in Schenectady, New York. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rochester in 1991, he went on to study at Carnegie Mellon University. He received his Masters in 1993 and his Doctorate in 1997 both in Mechanical Engineering, with his thesis Modeling and Simulation of Turbulent Flow and Heat Transfer in Turbine-Blade Coolant Passages.
His work in the field of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) led him to take a job with Pratt & Whitney, designing airplane engines for both commercial and military projects, including the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF).
His love of science, engineering, and aerospace has been constant and he would be proud to support this new endeavor.
