Born August 13, 1931, he started flying in the late 1960's. The first plane he owned was a cloth-winged Bellanca, which he once safely landed on a highway due to engine failure. Other planes he owned included a twin-engine Cessna 310 and his favorite, a Cessna 210, which underwent a dramatic theft connected to one of the FBI's 10 most-wanted criminals.
He is a former builder and developer, telephone executive and U.S. Naval Submariner (Korean War).
