Earl H. Barnhart started instructing at Nichols Airport, LaPorte City, Iowa, about 1966 while still employed at the John Deere Tractor Company in Waterloo. He was friendly and took time to explain things well to student pilots and many came to our airport with its grass strips to learn to fly because of him. After taking early retirement from Deere hi is still instructing pilots for their instrument ratings all over the USA with P. I. C.
