    Ed Velasquez served in the US Navy from 2/67 to 12/70 as an Aviation Machinist Mate 2nd Class. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He served on the USS Hancock CVA-19 and the USS Shangri-La. He was responsible for the maintenance of jet aircraft powerplant and fuel systems. Ed was awarded both the Navy Unit Commendation as well as a Letter of Commendation from the Commanding Officer of the USS Hancock. After serving in Vietnam, Ed pursued his love of aviation by receiving his Private Pilot License, his Commercial Pilot License with Multi-Engine and Instrument Rating, and his IA Certificate. He is a member of the National Business Aircraft Association, AOPA and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
