    Colonel Paquin spent 27 active duty years in the Air Force. He was forced to retire on a disability after a ruptured stomach operation.

    During World War II, he flew 73 B-25 combat missions in India, Burma, and China. He also flew 12 Hump missions from India to China and back. Finally, he flew 13 Troop Cargo missions out of Liuchou, China with the 14th Air Force.

    During the Korean War, he flew reconnaissance missions over Siberia in B-29s, monitoring the movement of rail and highway convoys headed for North Korea.

    During the Vietnam War, he was a Senior Duty Officer in the Defense Intelligence Agency's World-Wide Alert Center in the Pentagon. He also acted as a liaison officer between the Air Forces in Vietnam and the Senate Armed Forces Committee.

    During his career, he also spent a six-month tour at Paris, France; a three-year tour at Fairford, England; a one-year tour at Sondrestromfjord, Greenland; and a three-year tour at Wiesbaden, Germany.
