A true pioneer in aviation. Flew as a barnstormer (jumping out of airplanes in a skimpy bathing suit blowing a bugle) flew for Chiang Kai Shek and the free Chinese Air Force prior to U.S. entry into WW2 , flew with the U.S. Army Air Force, and later clandestine missions for the U.S. government, delivered supplies to the Belgians fighting in the Congo flying Constellations at night into flare lit small airstrips in the jungle, civilian flight instructor, charter pilot, air show performer, and GREAT friend, and my first flight instructor.
