    H.W. McKinley, Jr. graduated from Curtis Wright Technical Institute in 1940. Shortly afterward, he joined the U.S. Navy. During World War II, he served in the North African and Caribbean Theaters serving as a PBY5A Catalina plane Captain. He was honorably discharged in September 18, 1945 as an Aviation Machinist’s Mate First Class.
    Bill McKinley’s civilian contribution to aviation started as an engineer for McDonald Company in St. Louis, MO, 1952. After five years in commercial aviation, he moved to Littleton, Colorado to work for Martin Marietta Company. Bill, called “Mac” by his friends, worked as an engineer through the development and deployment of the Titan program. He retired from Martin in Mya 1979 after 40 years of service to his country and the aerospace industry.
