For extraordinary achievement, while serving as a lead bombardier on many heavy bombardment missions over enemy occupied territory and Germany. The coolness and exceptional bombing skill of this officer in the face of heavy enemy opposition were major factors in the completion of many missions. His devotion to duty and determination reflect the highest credit on him and the Armed Forces of the USA.
