    Served a total of 46 years in the Air Force, man and boy, military and civilian
    B-24 crew commander in 458th Bomb Group at Horsham St. Faith Base in UK. Flew 30 missions over Germany in early 1944. First crew in Group to complete missions and only crew to fly 30 missions without aborting a mission. Received 2 DFC's and 4 Air Medals. One DFC was for persevering to accomplish one mission, having to use 3 airplanes in the process.
    Retired as Lt Col in 1964 after serving in many flying and non-flying positions including Standardization Boards and Chief, Cost Analysis of Strategic Air Command.
    Worked in Air Force Headquarters in the Pentagon after retirement -- from 1964 until 1988. Started as Budget Analyst and ended career as Deputy Director - Senior Executive Service with rank of Major General. Awarded Distinguished Executive Rank by President Reagan and Meritorious Executive Rank by Vice-President Bush as well as top Civilian Awards from Secretary of Department of Defense and Secretary of Air Force.
