    Personal Data: Born September 28, 1959, in Warren, Ohio. Considers Cocoa, Florida, to be his hometown. Married to Ginny Comer. He enjoys golf, woodworking, reading, cooking, and spending time with friends. His father and sister, James D. Comer and Felecia Super, reside in central Florida.
    Education: Graduated from Cocoa High School, Cocoa, Florida, in 1977. Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Administration from Barry University, 2002. Master of Management from Webster University 2005.
    Organizations: Member of the National Management Association, Institute of Certified Professional Managers and Team Niagara.
    Special Honors: Recipient of the Navy Good Conduct Medal, NSAS Public Service Medal, NASA Space Flight Awareness Award, United Space Alliance Leadership Award, and United Space Alliance Performance Award.
    Military Experience: Comer was in the United States Navy from 1978 to 1982. A member of the commissioning crew on the U.S.S. McInerney (FFG-8 Comer has the honor of being a "Plank Owner". He worked in engineering and held the distinction of serving as the Senior Engineering Officer of the watch for the Gas Turbine power plant / Electrical Power distribution systems on the 445 ft Guided Missile Cruiser McInerney.
    NASA Experience: Selected in 1984 as a Space Shuttle System Technician. Comer worked in the Forward, Midbody, Aft section of the Space shuttle and on Ground Support Equipment at Kennedy Space Center and Dryden Flight Research Facility. In 1986 Comer was promoted to Aft Shop Supervisor where he planned, organized, scheduled, and implemented technical tasks in Orbiter Processing. In 1990, he took on the responsibilities of Site Manager and Test Director for Landing Operations. In this capacity, he performed the duties as Liaison for LSOC with NASA, the U.S. Air Force and foreign embassies at domestic and international landing sites. Responsibilities included organizing and executing integrated landing / recovery procedures. In 1993, Comer assumed the responsibilities as Chief of Staff for the Director of Orbiter Operations. Duties included proposals for new and improved procedures in all aspects of the Space Shuttle Processing Contract, Project leader for all Safety and Quality issues involving Incident Prevention Board actions, and functioned as Move Director and Operation test Director for Orbiter Landings and flight hardware moves. As a Project Leader for Landing Operations in 1999, Comer coordinated mission specific manpower requirements for all CONUS and TAL sites. In 2003 Comer lead the Columbia reconstruction and investigation process for the United States Alliance at Kennedy Space Center. This evolved fostering customer relationships with NASA and a multitude of other government agencies. In 2004, he assumed the current position as manager of Orbiter Operations Process Innovations. He developed the department to improve Orbiter Operations processes by applying innovative ideas and methods.
