    Honored by:

For thirteen years I have been a Docent at the Paul E. Garber Preservation, Restoration, and Storage Facility located in Silver Hill, Maryland.

My aviation career began in 1950 when I was awarded my Navy wings and commission at Naval Air Station, Corpus Christi, Texas. My first duty station was Patrol Squadron 28 based at Naval Air Station, Barbers Point on the island of Oahu in the Hawaiian Islands, Our squadron made two deployments to Southeast Asia in support of the United Nations in the Korean War.

Subsequent to the war I participated in Operation Deep Freeze I and II in the Antarctic. Next came two tours in the Advanced Training Command, teaching US Naval personnel how to fly. Following that duty I reported into Air Antisubmarine Squadron 34. Two years later I reported to the carrier USS Essex (CVS-9).

My last tour was three years in Norway with the Northern Command of NATO.
