    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:

In 1986, Jim Lloyd flew a 75th anniversary re-enactment of the first flight across the United States. The flight included all the stops that Cal Rodgers made in 1911. Jim Lloyd flew a replica of the original Wright Model EX that was designed for exhibition flights. Rodgers persuaded J. Ogden Armour, of Armour and Company, to sponsor the flight, and in return he named the plane after Armour's grape soft drink "Vin Fiz". Cal Rodgers' "Vin Fiz" is on display in the Barron Hilton Pioneers of Flight gallery of the National Mall building of the National Air and Space Museum.

Jim Lloyd's love of aviation is virtually unbounded, almost as much as his love for his family.
