    Honored by:
    Carl Ingrao

Upon completion of college with a B.A. degree in applied art I enlisted in the Air Force in 1952 at Oakland, CA. As one of the last privates I passed the battery of tests for aviation cadet training. I was sent to Vance AFB to crew on B-25's to await the next cadet class. Finally I was assigned to Maiden AB Missouri for preflight but shortly was replaced by foreign cadets from the Mutual Defense Assistance Pact and sent to Craig AFB Alabama awaiting the next class. Finally I was assigned to Class 53G at Spence AB, Georgia to train in T-6G's.
The next assignment was to the 315th Air Division in Southern Japan. A year later I was transferred to Clark AFB in the Philippines but in Tokyo all flights were cancelled due to uprisings in Vietnam. While waiting I went to the Far East Air Force HQ and talked to the head of Stat Services requesting reassignment to work there. I served as Charge of Graphic Presentations until returning to the states to be discharged in 1956.
