As Consulting Mech. Metallurgist, he coordinated research efforts of two universities and within GE, which resulted in a weight-saving dovetail joint between turbine disc and blade which was incorporated in GE jet engines. He built Fatigue Joint Testers to optimize the design. He developed an alloy for welds on Minuteman ICBM Solid Rocket Case, which greatly increased the burst pressure.
