P-51 Aircraft shot up while strafing locomotive in North China. Bailed out at minimum altitude. Spent slightly more than three months walking out of North China. Tied up with Chinese Communist Army. Exited through Yen nan thence back to Chunking and finally Kunming (Home Base).
Met Mao Tse Tung, Chou En Lou and General Che Tse.
Returned to US in1945. Assigned to Air Proving Ground d then to Korea. Flew 150 missions in F-80s stayed in military. Retired 1963 Lt. Col.
