    Born: September 2, 1923 in New York, NY; Died: October 14, 1995 in Del Mar, CA.
    Joseph Stamler realized his dream of becoming a pilot by enlisting with the U. S. Army Air Forces during World War II. From 1944 to 1946 he flew A-26 and B-26 bomber aircraft as a First Lieutenant of the 38th Bomb Group of the Fifth Air Force in the Pacific Air Command.
    He flew in the Air Offensive in Japan, The China Offensive and the Western Pacific Campaigns, earning a WWII Victory Medal, and American Campaign Medal and a Distinguished Unit Badge with three Oak Leaf Clusters.
    After retiring the Air force in 1946, he pursued his love of flight through air travel as a civilian travelling throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
