for service as set forth in the following
CITATION: '
"For heroism and extraordinary achievement in aerial flight during operations against enemy Japanese forces In the Western Pacific Area, from April 19 to August 15, 19^5• Participating in twenty anti-shipping and. patrol missions during this period, TURNER contributed materially to the success of his squadron. His gallant devotion to duty was In keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service."
