Doug “Buzz” (his call sign) an F18 pilot w/VFA97 was assigned to the Carl Vinson and saw action over Afghanistan. After the boat turned towards home, Doug was sent home for his dad’s funeral. Next the Wing was assigned to the Nimitz, and flew over the Persian Gulf.
