    Honored by:

I entered the U.S. Army Air Corps in February 1943 and graduated from pilot training as a 2nd Lieutenant in March 1944. Following a tour as student pilot and then instructor pilot in B-17s, I was assigned to a combat crew training wing as a B-29 aircraft commander where I was assigned at the end of WWII.
After a period in the Air Force Reserves, I completed a degree in mechanical engineering at Purdue and re-entered the Air Force in September 1949. After a tour in Alaska, I returned to the U.S. for graduate training in aeronautical engineering after several R&D assignments, I retired October 20, 1969.
