During the TET Offensive 1968-69 I was airborne 10-15 hours each day for 14 months over the numerous battlefields in the 25th Infantry Division area of operations. As the Division Artillery Commander, I was involved in intense combat with NVA elements and conducted operations to include medevac, rescue of downed crews, etc. My helicopter was downed by hostile ground fire seven (7) times during this period.
