2 Lt. Setliff received his commission on Jan. 12, 1955 rising to the rank of
Maior 14 years later. Trained in navigation, highlights of his 23 years of service
service include 1 year flying North Atlantic Search and Rescue, teaching _____
navigation, missiles and electronics, and service in Viet Nam. He served 2
years flying 15 day rotational missions in Viet Nam from the Philippine________
Islands and then a full tour in country flying from Nakhom Phanom. He became gualified on four aircraft including the C-47, the I-29, the E-47 and the C-141, In recognition of a distinguished career, he was assigned as Navigator aboard Air Force II during VP Rockefeller's term. His many service awards included
recognition for both combat and non-combat service. In order of pre-,________
cedence, he received: the Distinguished Flying Cross, Meritorious Service,
Medal, 5 Air Medals, a Combat Readiness Medal, a National Defense________
Medal w/ a Battle Star and a Viet Nam Service Medal w/ 4 Battle Stars among
others. He retired in January 1977.
