    He served in the Army Air Force as a B24 Navigator in WWII. After the war he attended Vincennes University and Purdue University receiving AS and BS degrees in aviation maintenance and business administration. He then entered the USAF as a pilot and flew C-47s in Alaska and C-124s around the world.
    He retired from the USAF Reserves in the early ?€?70s and was chief pilot for a corporation until retiring to Florida in the late ?€?80s. He enjoyed flying his own plane including over 200 missions for Angel Flight. He also enjoyed restoring and maintaining aircraft and was always willing to help someone who needed it.
