The commercial aviation profile of Morten S. Beyer is taken from the back cover of his book entitled “Flying Higher”. Which he wrote and published after he finally retired.

Morten S. Beyer had a sixty year career in commercial aviation, from the Pan Am Clipper Ships to the Supersonic jet era. He left an indelible mark on the industry, spanning thirty years as an airline executive and thirty more as a pioneer consultant.
During this time he headed numerous airlines and inaugurated services we, today, take for granted, including air coach, in flight drinks, high density seating and streamlined labor practices.
He was one of the founders of ISTAT, the International Society of Aircraft Traders, and set standards for appraisals for the industry. He founded the Avmark Newsletter, a leading analysis of the valuation of aircraft.
Midway in his career he went to Arabia to manage Saudi Arabian Airlines, leading it into the Twentieth Century, and then developed Modern Air as a major charter carrier from Berlin. Mort opposed deregulation, foreseeing its adverse consequences to the industry. Later he participated in the liquidation of many airlines bankrupted under deregulation.
