Mr. Charles L. Ward has had his private pilot’s license since 1943. He has been a member of AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) for 55 years. He received his commercial pilot’s license after World War II under the GI Bill of Rights. Mr. Ward also has his instrument rating. Flying is his only hobby. He owns a 1948 Piper Vagabond. Mr. Ward was an aircraft mechanic for USAir for 34 years.
