    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:

Mr. Scherer has not set any flight records. He has never destroyed any enemy aircraft or other assets. However his entire adult life has been involved with air and space flight. During his 33 year NASA career he worked as a Technical Editor, Mathematician and Equipment Custodian. He flew as a Private pilot for over twenty years. (Mr. Scherer made his first solo flight from the historic College Park Airport in 1967.) He continues to volunteer at the College Park Aviation Museum.
Mr. Scherer has achieved important personal growth from these activities. The excitement of flying helped him to overcome shyness and to develop an outlook of courage. His NASA career provided numerous opportunities to build "people skills" (such as coordinating, informing, negotiating, etc.)
Thus aviation and space flight have helped Mr. Scherer to become a more effective representative for Jesus Christ and to be a better citizen.

Wall of Honor profiles are provided by the honoree or the donor who added their name to the Wall of Honor. The Museum cannot validate all facts contained in the profiles.
