    Jack Sinclair graduated from Florida State University in 1956 with a Journalism degree and an Army ROTC commission. He later used both of these to attain superior ratings as a publications supervisor at Cape Canaveral and commanding officer of an Army Reserve unit.
    Sinclair recently completed a 35-year career on the Air Force Eastern Range. This included 20 years as Cape Publications Supervisor for Pan Am World Services and Computer Sciences Raytheon. His office was responsible for the preparation of test documentation to provide Range User support for commercial, military, and space programs. Users included the Air Force at Cape Canaveral, NASA at Kennedy Space Center, and the Navy at Port Canaveral.
    Among the highlights of his Cape assignment were the following:
    Prepared the Operations Directive for Apollo 17 which completed the Mercury-Gemini-Apollo series. Also received a Certificate of Participation for Apollo 11 as the historic first manned lunar landing with astronauts Armstrong and Aldrin.
    Worked on the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project as the first US-USSR manned mission. Also prepared an article on Skylab as the first US space station which was published in the Pan Am employee newspaper.
    Involved in Space Shuttle program from initial test flights through the Challenger tragedy and subsequent return to flight. Deployment of the Hubble Space Telescope with its photography of the universe was a key mission.
    Planetary missions and fly-bys of the solar system including the twin Viking landers on Mars.
    Satellite launches for the United States and foreign countries for a variety of commercial and government purposes.
    Testing of the Army Pershing and Navy Trident missiles, as well as classified Air Force satellite launches.
    Deployment of the 24-satellite global Positioning System which was used during the Persian Gulf War. GPS has since been adapted for commercial and civilian use.
    Range phase over from research and development to operational status under the USAF Space Command. This required revising documentation to upgrade the Atlas, Delta, and Titan programs.
    Sinclair initially worked in industrial relations, industrial engineering, and publications at Patrick AFB. Travel benefits with Pan Am enabled Sinclair and his family to travel to over 50 foreign countries as well as around the United States during a 30-year period.
