    Jon S. Ogg, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is Director of Engineering and Technical Management, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Mr. Ogg leads the development and implementation of engineering policies and practices spanning science and technology, research, development, test and evaluation, and sustainment. In this capacity, he is charged with the overarching systems engineering and technical management policy and practices focused on achieving fleet operational safety, suitability and effectiveness. Mr. Ogg also directs development of new initiatives designed to improve the recruitment and career management of military and civilian scientists and engineers.

    Mr. Ogg entered federal civil service in 1975 as a project engineer with the Flight Systems Directorate. He has been involved in all phases of weapon system life cycle from concept exploration to sustainment and retirement. He is recognized as an authority on the structural and operational integrity of propulsion and power systems, having spent nearly 15 years in the business. Mr. Ogg has provided technical and programmatic support to a myriad of weapon system programs, including serving in the capacity of Chief Engineer for the F-22 program for nearly a decade. He has led numerous high-level teams spanning acquisition strategies, Request for Proposal preparation, risk assessments and flight certification reviews. He helped pioneer the current integrated product-process development and product team approach in use today across the acquisition enterprise.

    Before assuming his current position, Mr. Ogg was the Chief Information Officer and Director of Communications, Headquarters AFMC. He was the command's primary catalyst for e-business transformation, responsible for identifying enterprise-wide e-business opportunities. He managed resources involved in the development and utilization of e-business solutions focused on eliminating redundancy and inefficiencies in business processes.
