    Mr. Baker spent over 45 years in the aviation industry. He attended Purdue University and obtained a BSME degree in 1957 from General Motors Institute. He spent his entire career with the former Allison Engine Company in Indianapolis Indiana now owned by Rolls-Royce Inc. in various engineering assignments including Installation Engineer, Senior Design Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, Senior Aero Dynamist, Supervisor and Contract Engineer. He was also a consulting engineer and President of The AeroTech Service Company in Indianapolis. Mr. Baker was the holder of eight United States patents pertaining to jet engine design and technology dealing with engine-airframe integration, engine inlet and exhaust nozzle systems, and Pulse Detonation Engines.. His wife, Joyce and children, Christopher and Gretchen, supported him throughout his career. Mr. Baker was a life-long supporter of aviation and the National Air and Space Museum.
