Mrs Catharine A. Smith has served as a strong supporter of the aviation industry. With a flying husband and two flying sons, she has been instrumental in keeping them healthy and happy to enable two of her four sons to pursue aviation careers. But more directly she supported her aviation husband from the beginning of his training through a long career of flying both in the military and during the business use of private aircraft. She herself accompanied him many times on the latter, and proved a true aviation enthusiast.
