    Honored by:
    Mr. David Bluford

Retired from the USAF in 1969, after over 21 years of service and over 5000 hours logged in flying time in the B-29, B-36, KC-97, and C-141 as Flight Engineer. His love for flying combined with his interest in electronics enabled him to utilize his skills and talents to live out a dream.

After growing up in east Tennessee, he entered the military and served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. Along the way he married the former Margaret White and they have two children, David and Mike. Though the family never was stationed outside the USA, "Blu" had the opportunity to fly to locations all over the world.

Following retirement and relocation from Travis AFB back to east Tennessee, he began his second career using his electronics training in working at Oak Ridge National Laboratories.

He took his last flight at his death on December 16, 2000.
